We drove this last week, the key seems to be driving into any available gap in the direction you want to go and watching out for others doing the same… though we did see one lady driving through the chaos whilst chatting on her mobile!

  • ashley92wales dit :

iv heared that the traffic at the arc has less accidents than most british box junctions lol

  • ashley92wales dit :

there are no traffic laws here, you just run a guantlet lol

  • ashley92wales dit :

    its not a roundabout lol

  • telboy1966manu dit :

Thanks for this video! We stood at almost the exact same place and our jaws dropped at the craziness of the traffic, I’d never seen anything like it. The cars and vans just veer off in random directions, hilarious!

I say to Brussels. Sort out European traffic driving standard bring it in line with the UK’s Highway code. Come on Brussels you can sort out the straigthness of the cucumber and disallowed imperial measurements in the UK. Why not this traffic mess? Is it because Brussels is mostly run by French polictians?

why do people use the Arc de Triomphe if they know there is like a 1 in 10 chance of having an accident? if people went round this at 70mph then this roundabout would kill more people than smoking does!!!

  • IVSolar dit :

That’s not too bad, I’ve seen worse in Los Angeles, and New York.

  • benbenbengaz dit :

    that roundabout is mad

  • kadreg dit :

    this is an urban legend

  • cj14030 dit :

I say yes, did you see any traffic lights?

  • Rolo1980 dit :

I see far more than five lanes!

  • haramumba dit :

chaos? why?…normaly there are 5 lanes…right side have right of way everything is clear!!!
i think somebody needs to visit some driving lessons…

  • helenelisechat dit :

Apparantly no car insurance policy is valid while driving on the Arc de Triomphe.

  • Trabantino dit :

That is an ordinary day. You should see that when there is a subway strike going on. Life would be too boring without a little mess. The only place where French people are disciplined, is queueing in silence at the bakery on Sunday morning.

  • Rolo1980 dit :

Do any of the people driving in this video have a licence?

  • valvuy dit :

don’t you have a valid driving license? « priority to those coming from your right hand side », so have your car in good working order, drive carefully and just respect all the rules (learn the « highway code »). Nothing extraordinary (or « insane »). You probably need to take some proper driving lessons!

I remember going under the arc de triomphe, the traffic was insane and very scary although we were in a tour bus. Too many smart cars and motorcycles going in the front of us
